Healing
Her clinical training in behavioral medicine was done at Harvard Medical School with Dr. Herbert Benson, who is well known for his relaxation response methods. Her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology is from The Union Institute in Cincinnati, where her research in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music in the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, resulted in observations of significant changes in physical measures and the subjective experience of pain and psychological stress.
Elizabeth is co-author with Gerald Eisenberg, M.D., of The Efficacy of Guided Imagery and Music in the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, a study completed in the Department of Pastoral Care and Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine at Luthern General Hospital. By continuing to research all aspects of music as therapy and other music modalities, as well as by forming coalitions with other health professionals, Elizabeth and her colleagues are helping to bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary medical approaches.

Passion for Music
A professional opera soprano and concert soloist, Elizabeth has performed in Europe and the United States. She has served as a Cultural Delegate to the People's Republic of China. She has taught music in the New York City school system, and served as director of Project Head Start in New York. She holds a BS in Music Education and Voice Performance from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana, a Master's of Music and Voice Performance in Florence, Italy from Rosary College of Illinois, Music Therapy Certification from Montclair State University in New Jersey, and is a fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery.
