Music Medicine Institute Presents "Music Inspired Creativity Program" Training Session
Members of the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island participtated in an MMI-sponsored training program Saturday, January 15 at the new Live Oak Public Libraries building near Savannah Mall. The four-hour session was presented in support of MM's efforts to help the children of deployed servicemen and women stationed at Hunter Army Airfield and Ft. Stewart deal with parental separations caused by overseas deployments.

The session was moderated by Linda Powell, MM, FAMI, of Columbus, NC. Linda taught in public and private schools for 30 years where she expanded her knowledge of the natural healing properties of music. Her formal music credentials are extensive, including a Master of Music Degree from University of Michigan, Bachelor of Music Education from Boston University, Orff Music Level 3 Certification at Memphis State University, and completion of a three-year training program in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music with the Southeastern Institute for Music-centered Psychotherapy in 1992.
