Giving to the Music Medicine Institute

MMI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  Its mission is to enhance the quality of life of individuals with acute or chronic illness through a collaboration between music and medicine.

The institute trains health professionals in the therapeutic use of music and imagery, conducts research in music therapy, provides music therapy clinical care, and promotes the use and advancement of music therapy in the mind-body-spirit medical continuum.

There are many ways for individuals, businesses and organizations to support the Music Medicine Institute:

  • Unrestricted gifts of cash, securities, life insurance and, in some cases, real property are gratefully accepted.  Unrestricted gifts allow the Institute to use funds so as to meet the organization’s greatest needs.  Gifts may also be designated to fund specific programs, equipment or research.
  • Tributes and memorials are thoughtful ways to support music therapy while honoring family members or friends, or recognizing important dates or accomplishments.
  • Planned gifts – bequests, charitable remainder trusts, and other specially structured gifts – provide long-term support to the Institute while helping donors meet tax and/or estate planning objectives.  Prospective donors contemplating a planned gift to any non-profit organization should consult their financial and/or legal advisor prior to finalizing any gift.
